The Studio D’Artisan 5690 Sashiko Check Short Sleeve in Brown is a limited collection piece, produced in an exclusive Japanese Amami Dorozome Mud Dyed fabric to be an all-natural, style forward heritage collector’s item. The intensive 1,300-year-old Dorozome mud dyeing technique is performed in the local iron rich soil baths of the small island of Amami-Oshima using completely natural extracts derived from the sap, wood chips, and mulch of the native Japanese Hawthorne tree. This all-season heavyweight Japanese milled double sashiko woven fabric has uniquely saturated colors, only achievable through this natural, bio-degradable yarn dyed process and is heavily garment washed for softness and to create a stable fabric that will evolve quickly with a personalized patina.
