The Maine Guide Wingtip Quebec DB Boots feature an exclusive wingtip pattern leather overlay that is handsewn onto the moccasin tip as a decorative embellishment. The boot’s unique appearance embellished by the ball-bearing lacing hooks used since the 1940’s for alpine ski boots, which are both functional and stylish, and “Quebec eyestay” lacing system, which was named for and inspired by designs found in an authentic Inuit boots.

Each pair of Yuketen’s genuine moccasin-construction footwear is handcrafted in our factory in Maine, USA. The shoes benefit from their construction using only the best components and materials such as a combination of the soft and silky full-grain flesh-out leather from Opera Leather from Tuscany, Italy who have been specialized in making flesh-out leather and suede since the 70s and the full grain chromexcel leather from Horween who have been making highest quality leather since 1905. The flesh-out leather is a full-grain leather that is flipped so that the flesh side of the leather faces outwards. The advantages of using full grain, flesh-out leather rather than split suede leathers are two fold; full grain leathers retain their structure, thickness and durability for long-lasting strength and the smooth grain side of the leather wears pleasantly against the skin, negating the need for additional liners. This way, the wearer enjoys the benefits of full grain leather and the pleasant aesthetic of the nappy, suede-like flesh side of the leather. The chromexcel is a buttery, malleable "pull-up" leather born of a unique double-tanning process of vegetable and chrome treatments, which imbues the leather with pleasantly aromatic liquor notes. Its suppleness, revealing of lighter tones in its oiled surface when stretched, makes it particularly suitable to moccasin construction.

The Italian made soft compound Cortina lug sole complements the dense nine layers of rubber and leather underfoot. This lug sole was made to commemorate the winter Olympic Games of 1956 which were held in the Cortina district of Italy and was created to offer the best balance of grip and durability to maintain consistent performance, even in freezing environments.
